While attending John Brown University in Arkansas, Susy Tucker visited her parents in Colorado Springs for the summer and heard about Griffith Centers for Children. She began working with youth at the Falcon Log, in Larkspur, which consisted of youth sex offenders. In December 1995, Susy graduated from John Brown and returned to work full time with the Griffith Centers.
In 2000, Susy found herself in a Foster Home Supervisor role, where she discovered she enjoyed supporting foster families. She was inspired by foster parents for the time and energy it took to open their homes and hearts to foster children. In 2005, the GCC Foster Care Director called and requested she interview for the position of Licensing Specialist, which she accepted. By the end of 2005, Susy had been promoted to Foster Care Program Manager and was able improve GCC compliance and increase the number of foster homes for the agency.
In 2008, Susy moved to the Colorado Department of Human Services as a Monitoring Specialist. While the GCC Foster Care Program thrived in her absence we are thrilled to welcome Susy back to GCC and are excited for the knowledge, dedication, and quality that she will bring.
