Event Volunteer Opportunities
Event volunteers are involved in the ongoing coordination and development of annual events that take place throughout the year. The events occur annually and require the majority of time commitment during the days leading up to these events. This aspect of the volunteer program allows the volunteer the flexibility to commit episodically or annually.
2009 Music on the Roof
Date: To be determined
Location: Denver Athletic Club
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours
Volunteer Duties:
- Direct guests from door to event
- Assist with registration: Check people in, assign nametags, etc.
Golf Tournament
Date: Monday, June 29, 2009
Location: Bear Dance Golf Club, Larkspur
Time Commitment: 3-6 hours
Volunteer Duties:
- Registration: Check people in, collect registration fees, hand out shirts/goodie bags, sell raffle tickets. 5 people needed from 6:00 am to 8:30 am.
- Photographer’s Assistant: Assist photographer in getting pictures of each foursome and keeping player’s names straight. 1 person needed from 8 am to 12-1 pm.
- Game Hole Monitors: Sit on a game hole and ensure that players are following the rules of the game. Chairs and water provided. 4 people needed from 7:15 am to approximately 12 pm.
- Auction Set Up and Coordination: Help the auctioneer unload and display auction items. Also sell raffle tickets. 2 people needed from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Peak Challenge 2009
Date: August 1st and 2nd, 2009
Location: 14,000 foot peaks across Colorado
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours
Volunteer Duties:
- Volunteer Leaders Needed! A good Leader candidate’s qualifications include good physical health, experience climbing 14ners, medical certifications (CPR certified, for example), and outdoor leadership or skills experience. Leaders can volunteer for a practice climb in June or July, or for the event itself in early August.
